SJMG AI Workforce Initiative

AI skills for every step of life.

Free, hands-on AI and digital-skills programs for seniors staying independent, adults entering the workforce, and kids building their first small business — built for housing authority residents across metro Atlanta.

Our mission

Closing the AI opportunity gap, one life stage at a time.

SJMG exists to make sure AI and digital literacy aren't privileges reserved for people who already have access, income, or a head start. We build hands-on, no-cost programs that meet people exactly where they are — whether that's a senior learning to use a tablet safely, an adult preparing for their first tech-enabled job, or a child discovering they can build something of their own.

Built alongside existing programs, not instead of them

Established technology and IT-career training nonprofits have already opened real doors for adults pursuing tech careers across metro Atlanta. Rather than duplicate that work, SJMG fills the gaps around it — reaching the seniors and the youngest learners who need a different kind of support, and extending applied AI workforce readiness to residents across metro Atlanta housing authorities.

Three programs, three steps

Every step up the ladder has a program built for it.

Just like the three steps in our logo, each program meets a different stage of life — and each builds toward the next.

1

Young Builders

Kids creating with AI. Kids and teens use AI tools to create something real — starting with writing and illustrating their own short book — while learning the basics of pricing, storytelling, and owning their creative work.

AI workforce readiness. Practical AI-tool fluency mapped to real entry-level jobs — admin support, customer service, logistics, healthcare scheduling. Graduates leave with a work portfolio and a certificate recognized by our employer partners.

Why this matters now

A policy shift is coming. We want it to open doors, not close them.

HUD's proposed rule changes mean housing authorities may soon ask voucher holders to show progress toward employment and self-sufficiency. SJMG exists to make sure that requirement becomes a real opportunity — with genuine skills, real mentorship, and no cost to participants — rather than another hurdle.
